Our school was established in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 by the Council of Higher Education Presidency's letter dated March 27, 1997 and numbered 585 at the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education on April 21, 1997. It was opened as Darende Mustafa-İclal Başer Vocational School and operated between 1997 and 2001. The name of our school was changed to Darende Vocational School by the Council of Higher Education Presidency's letter dated May 13, 2010 and numbered 2574 at the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting. Later, it was changed to Darende DASEV Vocational School by the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting dated May 5, 2011 and numbered 3308. Finally, it was changed to Darende Bekir Ilıcak Vocational School by the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting dated August 9, 2012 and numbered 5324 . Our college was affiliated with Malatya Turgut Özal University with the Higher Education Law Decree No. 7141 published in the Official Gazette dated 18 May 2018 and continues its education activities under the same name.
